Red-Sox Forum: Classless

Did you pay attention to the last post? I cited Ramirez as an example of someone on the team who doesn't play with heart. Another would be Pedro Martinez (I'm surprised you didn't defend him to the hilt...I must have been right about something), who should have answered the bell in Game 3, but instead made a circus of himself and his team. Martinez wouldn't know heart if it stared him right in the face! Being the best pitcher in baseball doesn't mean anything if you choke every postseason. It's not as though I'm a Yankees fan (hell no!); my loyalties lie with the St. Louis Cardinals, lifelong fan by the way. Why did I mention class? Jeter does have class. Overpaid, yes, but he is as classy as one can be. Bernie Williams, Joe Torre, Andy Petitte, Mike Mussina, and Gabe White are other examples of Yankees with class. The likes of Bill Mueller, Kevin Millar, Trot Nixon (some Red Sox fans have anoited him the second coming of Dwight Evans, or even Mike Greenwell...Nixon isn't even in the same class), Todd Walker, David Ortiz, and John Burkett to name a few are nothing more than average players having career seasons at the right time. When I made my statements about class, the Yankees didn't have to get a crowd going by spelling out the name of the opposing pitcher with tape on the backs of their jackets. The Yankees didn't come up with a goofy assed slogan to "rally" their troops (notice the Yankees don't need a slogan? A little thing having to do with shutting up and playing...it helped in winning 26 championships, maybe Boston should take a cue). The Yankees didn't employ a top starting pitcher who hit the first two batters in a game with a heated rival, sending them to the hospital. All of that can be attributed to the Red Sox. Their antics can be best described as bush league. Now, would you as a Red Sox fan, want that kind of team representing your city?

By the way, I CAN put up an intelligent argument with you, anytime. I'm only 22, so I kind of have a sense of what's going on in my favorite game. I have accumulated more baseball knowledge in my left pinky finger than you have in your entire head! Don't question my ability!
