Red-Sox Forum: This Trade thing is getting silly...
Posted by: Ces (cespenar@ThisIsToPreventSpam-519-RemoveThis.cox.net) on 25 Nov 2003 at 1:10:29 AM Let's start with Manny to Texas for ARod. OK, I would eat that trade up all day. Put Kapler in left, let AR play shortstop, and now we have a whole team that actually runs out ground balls. Moving Nomar to third would be fine, as he has a gun most El Queda' loyalists would cringe at. But trading Manny, getting ARod, then trading Nomar to California for young pitchers is, for lack of a better word, silly. When I think about Red Sox tradition I think of Ted, Carl, Rice, and Nomar. If Garciaparra *wants to go, then god bless, as he should have been offered a renegotiated contract before last season. If he doesn't, then the front office is out of their mind. Nomar for 3 minor league pitchers? Okay, that's a well thought out trade. Heh, maybe one can be the next Casey Fossum, throw 90, and still give up more home runs than a little league pitching machine.
