Marlins Forum: Wild card clinch?

Posted by: Greg (gtodd@ThisIsToPreventSpam-801-RemoveThis.orcc.com) on 26 Sep 2003 at 8:38:44 AM

Didn't the fish in fact clinch the wild card last night instead of just clinching a tie? Here's why - if the Marlins lose the remaing 3 games, then the Cubs and Astros would have to win thier remaing 3 to create the supposed wild-card tie. However, this would also create a tie for the Central Division lead - therefore requiring a 1 game play-off that would count as a regular season game. the loser of that game would finish with one more loss than Florida and statistically finish out of the wild-card (.579 vs. .576). Ergo, Marlins clinch wild-card!

Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <info@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.interesting.com> would become <info@interesting.com>.
