: when did the stl cards first get organized? did they move from another city? did they ever have a different name? what is the signifigance and the reason for the cardinal red bird?
:Hi Sam,
The St. Louis National League was started in 1876.
The team was originally called the Brown Stockings, and later, simply the Browns.
In 1899, the name Browns was changed to the Perfectos -- and the team color became red.
In regards to their new color, a sportswriter heard a lady remark, "What a lovely shade of cardinal," and then used Cardinals as a nickname.
The team officially changed its name from the Perfectos to the Cardinals in 1900.
(This is summarized from the Cardinals official Web site.)

Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <info@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.interesting.com> would become <info@interesting.com>.
